My new friend 'Kindle'

With my exams getting over and with the start of Dasara vacation (Festival celebrated in the country I live in) now I am back with a new blog.  Today's blog is about my new friend 'Kindle'. I am sure many of you know what a Kindle is.  For those of you who don't, a Kindle is a way to purchase and read books without getting hard copy of the book.  

I have always been a bookworm. So after sometime of waiting my parents got me a Kindle for my birthday. My uncle gifted me a really beautiful cover for my Kindle. 






We got the kindle setup and charged. From the second day itself, I started downloading and reading many books. Less than a month later, we got Kindle Unlimited.   I started to read one book as soon as we got it. Kindle unlimited allows me to have access to many books which we couldn't read otherwise or couldn't find a hard copy of.  I am having a lot of fun with it and I spend almost my whole day reading books on Kindle.

Right now I am reading Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix.  Though I enjoyed reading the previous part of the series on hard copy of books (a great gift from my elder sister),  but reading on Kindle is equally fun as reading hard copy.

I am going to get back to my reading... see you guys soon with a new blog.

Matilda - book review

  Hello Everyone, I know its been a long time since I wrote a blog, today I am back with a new post about the book Matilda. This book is written by Roald Dahl, one of my favourite writer.  I have also read  'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' , 'Charlie and the great glass elevator'  written by the same author.  The book is about a little smart girl named Matilda who is completely ignored by her family.  The book narrates Matilda's desire to study and go to school and also her adventures at school.  Even before she was sent to school by her parents, she learnt reading by herself and read almost every book in the nearly library.  She was also able to manage all activities by herself. This book narrates how Matilda learns about her secret power and her abilities. It is quite interesting to read how Matilda uses her power to save her classmates from the pun ishments of the rude school principal. Hello everyone nice to see you again.   You know I am a big fan of jellies.   I was wondering if there are any Indian jellies and for my surprise there are so many kinds of halwa which looks like jellies. In this blog I am writing about few Indian jellies.   Ash gourd Halwa (Dumroot Halwa/Kashi Halwa) Ashgourd halwa is a delicious halwa which looks and tastes like jelly. It is a preparation made from Ash gourd, sugar, ghee, cardamom and dry fruits. Though preparing it is a lengthy process, if done right, it tastes very good.   This is a very famous halwa which in prepared in many weddings and feasts.  It is also called as Kashi halwa or dumroot. I heard that it originated in udupi.  Here is the picture of the halwa which was made in our home last week.  Isn't it mouth watering? I enjoyed eating it as much as my parents enjoyed preparing it :)   In my next blog, see you with a different home made jelly... Bye for now.
