Desserts

Hello everyone nice to see you again.

You know I am a big fan of jellies.   I was wondering if there are any Indian jellies and for my surprise there are so many kinds of halwa which looks like jellies. In this blog I am writing about few Indian jellies.

Ash gourd Halwa (Dumroot Halwa/Kashi Halwa)

Ashgourd halwa is a delicious halwa which looks and tastes like jelly. It is a preparation made from Ash gourd, sugar, ghee, cardamom and dry fruits. Though preparing it is a lengthy process, if done right, it tastes very good.

This is a very famous halwa which in prepared in many weddings and feasts.  It is also called as Kashi halwa or dumroot. I heard that it originated in udupi.

Here is the picture of the halwa which was made in our home last week.  Isn't it mouth watering?

I enjoyed eating it as much as my parents enjoyed preparing it :)

In my next blog, see you with a different home made jelly... Bye for now.
